Mountaineers best Blue Hawks for first win February 11, 2021BERLIN Following a disappointing 0-4 start to the season, the Berlin-Gorham girls hockey team won its first game of the season this past Wednesday at the Notre Dame Arena. Following a pair of losses to St. Thomas-Winnacunnet-Dover and Concord, the Mountaineers earned a 4-1 victory over the Exeter Blue Hawks. Goals by four different Lady Mountaineers would lead the way for coach Craig Bartoli as Olivia O Neil would register 18 saves in her first career varsity victory between the pipes. In a rough and tumble style game, the Mountaineers were able to sustain a consistent offensive forecheck as they would take 38 shots throughout the contest. In the first period, Maya Wedge would score the game s first goal with assists going to Sophia Schoenbeck and Grace Bradley. The two teams would enter the locker rooms after one period of play with the score in Berlin-Gorham s favor at 1-0.

Nettes pick up 15th win of the season in non-region actionPHS Basketball, Team FYN Sports January 27, 2021 , by RJ Casey Chatsworth, Ga On Tuesday, January 26th, the Pickens Dragonettes (15-3, 7-1) traveled to Chatsworth to take on the North Murray Lady Mountaineers (5-12, 1-8) in non-region action. These two teams played each other on December 29th, with Pickens coming away with the 55-47 win. The Nettes, were coming off of a huge comeback win over Dawson on Saturday, while the Lady Mountaineers were coming off of a tough loss to Ringgold. In what was a defensive, sometimes physical game, Pickens came out on top 46-27.

Nettes hold off North Murray for sixth straight win - Pickens

Jasper, Ga On Tuesday, December 29th, 2020, the Pickens Dragonettes 7-2 (3-0) welcomed the North Murray Lady Mountaineers 2-5 (0-2) to the Dragons Den for a non-region contest. This was the first game for the Lady Mountaineers since the 22nd, and the first game for the Nettes since the 18th so it was going to be interesting to see how the two teams played after having a week off or more in the Nettes case. Pickens came into the game winners of 5 straight. After a back and forth battle for most of the game, the Nettes came away with a 55-47 win.

Eastern to limit fan capacity; imposes health and safety guidelines

Dunlap Fieldhouse will not be seen during the 2021 season, as EOSC announced it will limit fan capacity at games. Eastern Oklahoma State College announced it will be limiting fans and imposing health and safety protocols during basketball games when the season starts in January. In a release this week, EOSC announced the decision to limit fan attendance due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and Eastern Athletic Director Matt Parker said that while it was a tough choice, it was made with the health and safety of everyone involved in mind.
