While both the champion from the early â70s, Gunsynd, and current star Rockhampton horse Absolut Artie are incomparable on an achievement level, they both share a common thread - courage with a capital âCâ.
Gunsynd (gr g 1967 Sunset Hue -Woodie Wonder) was an elite thoroughbred, winning 29 races, many at GR 1 level, and is an Australian Hall of Fame racehorse inductee.

Rockhampton trainer Jamie McConachy and visiting New South Wales jockey Bobby El-lssa will turn the clock back four years when they band together at Wednesday’s Rockhampton TAB races.
El-lssa, 42, and McConachy will combine with likely favourite Lady Lowburn (Race 3 - TAB 14) in the $30.5K QTIS 3YO Maiden (1200m) run at 1.09pm.
Last Wednesday at Callaghan Park the filly went within a half-head of toppling hotpot Back When ($1.40) in an identical race for the class and distance.

A TOTAL of 106 horses are declared to start today at what is one of the busiest Friday race meetings ever staged by the Rockhampton Jockey Club.
There are nine races on the program at Callaghan Park, the first set to jump at 12.32pm.
The bumper meeting coincides with the RJCâs Kids Christmas Race Day, which features a host of entertainment.
That includes the 2020 Ramsay Pharmacy Kids Fashion Competition, jumping castle and face painting, Christmas arts and crafts, the Patlaw Securities Sprint Race for the Kids and a visit from Santa.
Gates open at noon and admission is free.
