The new era of Jonesboro High School volleyball begins in just over a month from now, and “The Drive with Brad Bobo” welcomed back the new leader of the Lady Hurricane on Wednesday afternoon. Nikki Skelton, who replaced the retired Craig Cummings earlier this year, visited the First National Bank High School Coaches’ Corner to look at how her team has done in its summer workouts ahead of a team camp trip to Cape Girardeau, Missouri on Thursday and Friday.

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - It was a nice Thursday to head to the track.
The Paul Hoffman Hurricane Relays were contested at Cooksey-Johns Field. Jonesboro hosted Nettleton, Valley View, Greene County Tech, Paragould, and Marion. The Hurricane and Lady Hurricane would sweep the team spoils.
NEA squads are gearing up for conference meets at the end of this month. State track meets are the first week of May.

Earle (Rholly Davis and 1)
Our first boys nominee is Earle. Rholly Davis split the defense, he would get two and the tweet. The Bulldogs beat Tuckerman 51-39 on Thursday. Earle is in the 2A State Semifinals.

Boys Hot Shot of the Week Nominees
Brookland (Tyler Parham steal and 3 to beat buzzer)
Our first nominee is from a 4A-3 showdown. Brookland’s Tyler Parham picked off a pass, he ended the 3rd quarter with a long range 3 to beat the buzzer. The Bearcats beat Southside 43 - 40 on Monday.
The Mountain Home High School wrestling teams had a successful night on Tuesday collecting conference dual wins over Jonesboro.
The Lady Bombers blanked the Lady Hurricane 60-0. Emma Martin and Amelia Frounfelter both picked up individual wins.
Mountain Home also won 51-16 on the boys’ side. The Bombers had victories from Drue Lindsey, Ross McDonald, Isaac Donais, Lawson Stockton and Elijah Lagg.
Mountain Home’s girls will return to tournament action Saturday at Conway, and both teams will head to Searcy next Tuesday.
