COLLEGE STATION, Texas (WAFB) - The LSU womenâs basketball team got off to a hot start against No. 7 Texas A&M but struggled on both ends of the court in the second half, especially the fourth quarter, in Reed Arena on Thursday, Feb. 4.
The Lady Tigers (8-8, 6-4 SEC) fell 54-41 to the Lady Aggies (17-1, 8-1 SEC). LSU scored just four points in the fourth quarter and its only field goal was a 3-pointer with 29 seconds remaining. The Lady Tigers were once again without head coach Nikki Fargas due to COVID-19 protocols. Assistant coach Charlene Thomas-Swinson filled in for her.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Just like in their first meeting in Oxford, the LSU womenâs basketball team had to overcome a deficit in the fourth quarter to force overtime and dominated Ole Miss in the extra period to get the win at the PMAC on Sunday, Jan. 31.
Ashlaa Zuniga Returns To Cedar Hill, As Waxahachie Coach
Ashlaa Zuniga is back home.
Well, almost. She’s coaching in nearby Waxahachie and her team competes against her alma mater Cedar Hill at least twice each basketball season as they are in the same district.
In fact, Zuniga’s Lady Indians will be visiting the Lady Longhorns Friday, Jan. 30 for their first of two District 11-6A meetings this season.
“I love it, my parents still reside in Cedar Hill and it is still near and dear to my heart. It is a surreal feeling walking into the gym as a coach, because I instantly flashback to great memories I had there as a student athlete,” Zuniga said. “Being in the District of Doom is tough, and I believe we have some of the best players as well as some of the best coaches in the state.”

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The LSU womenâs basketball team saw its big lead totally evaporate by the fourth quarter against Texas A&M but the Lady Tigers were able to force overtime and get the victory over the Lady Aggies.
LSU (5-6, 3-2 SEC) upset No. 7 Texas A&M (12-1, 3-1 SEC), 65-61, in overtime.
