WNBA draft 2021 grades - Dallas Wings draft Charli Collier, score highest marks

The 2021 WNBA draft might be best remembered for three things: a potential dynamic duo for the Dallas Wings with 1-2 picks Charli Collier and Awak Kuier, teams betting on young international talent, and Indiana throwing some unexpected curveballs that will prove to be either surprisingly brilliant or way off base. At maximum, there are only 144 roster spots in the 12-team WNBA. Not every team is expected to carry 12 players this year, though, due to contractual obligations and fitting under the salary cap, so there might be even fewer spots up for grabs. When you consider how good the rosters already are, the chances for the draftees to make it to the league in its 25th anniversary season are going to be tough for most.

The Aggies deny the Gamecocks’ bid of repeating as league champions in Sunday’s winner-take-all showdown. A loss that drops the Gamecocks to the two seed in the upcoming SEC Women’s Tournament in Greenville later this week.

Wells has 21 as No 7 Texas A&M women outlasts No 16 Arkansas

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) – Kayla Wells had a season-high 21 points and Jordan Nixon made a layup with eight seconds remaining to lift No. 7 Texas A&M to a 69-67 win over No. 16 Arkansas on Sunday. “I’m worn out. It seems like we’ve had so many of these close ball games,” Texas A&M coach Gary Blair said. “I’ve got to trust my veterans down the stretch to make plays and they’ve been doing it.” A 3-pointer by Amber Ramirez tied it at 67-all with less than 90 seconds to go. Both teams missed a shot on their next possession before Nixon drove into the lane for the basket to put the Aggies up for good.
