The Indian and Chinese armies agreed to work out a mutually acceptable resolution of the remaining issues in eastern Ladakh at the earliest during their 16th round of high-level talks on Sunday.
The Ladakh border standoff between the armies of India and China erupted on May 5, 2020, following a violent clash in the Pangong lake areas. Both sides gradually enhanced their deployment by rushing in tens of thousands of soldiers as well as heavy weaponry.
The two sides agreed to maintain security and stability on the ground in the region and continue the dialogue through military and diplomatic channels, a joint statement said.
