Musica Viva, Elisabeth Murdoch Hall, July 13
Hatched during lockdown,
Bower is a sequence of music, old and new, mirroring the bowerbird’s habit of gathering eclectic material. Recorder virtuoso Genevieve Lacey, in her own colourful and charismatic way, commissioned and assembled music to perform with her friend, harpist Marshall McGuire.
Bower has morphed into a stage production, aiming to create feelings of shelter and rejuvenation amid the rigours of the pandemic.
