After holding the line on wage freezes for public servants since February 2020, the government has had a change of heart. A day before the start of court proceedings over salary increases, the government now wants to enter into out-of-court settlement talks with public servants.
The government has turned to the Military Health Services to help out at the Thelle Mogoerane, Sebokeng and Bheki Mlangeni hospitals which have been hard hit by the ongoing public sector strike.
The Labour Appeal Court on Monday interdicted with immediate effect the strike action started last Monday by Nehawu and its members who are employed in an essential service.
