New this morning. Someone hit a house with gunfire this morning around 3 am in waterloo. Police responded to a house in the 200 block of reed street. No one was hurt, and police are still investigating. A man faces a first degree murder charge this morning after he fatally stabbed another man. This all happened at a motel on the outskirts of cedar rapids. The Linn County Sheriffs Office says 47 year old Michael Lehman stabbed 23 year old jimmi jon lint several times during a fight. It happened at the cedrel motel, which is a few miles west of cedar rapids on highway 30. Around 12 30 am yesterday, law officers found lint lying on the floor of a room with several stab wounds. He died later at a hospital. Sheriffs deputies arrested lehman in another room at the motel. A man is in Police Custody after Authorities Say he broke into a home and severely beat a woman in elkader last week. The Linn County Sheriffs Office says 64 year old Randall Maher of mount vernon lost control of his vehicle. He was driving on Mount Vernon Road a bit before 10 yesterday morning. The truck entered the ditch before spinning and crashing into the building. Maher is at the hospital and is expected to survive. The waterl west junior went for a bike ride on october 22nd without a cell phone or his wallet. Friends and family hadnt seen him since. Teachers and students held multiple community searches near trails and lakes in hopes of finding sed alive. Authorities are still trying to figure out how sed died.
