MOSES LAKE – Down 28-6 at the half, Moses Lake was able to put points on the board and cut the deficit to 10 points in the fourth quarter, but the Chiawana Riverhawks made key plays down the stretch to defeat the Mavs 49-32 at Lions Field Friday night.
EAST WENATCHEE – Moses Lake was able to move the ball up and down the field on Friday night against Eastmont but went one-for-four in the red zone, resulting in a 35-8 loss to the Wildcats, the Maverick’s first loss of the season.
“Just didn’t finish drives,” Moses Lake coach Brett Jay said. “We got to down to the two once, got down to the six-inch line once and we didn’t punch it in. We got exposed a little bit.” .
MOSES LAKE – Friday night’s game was yet another strong showing for the Moses Lake Mavericks, who improved to 8-0 with a 47-12 win over West Valley (Yakima) on senior night.
MOSES LAKE – A slow start in the first quarter was quickly shaken off by the Moses Lake Mavericks on Friday night, who improved to 6-0 after a 59-14 win over Davis.
“We feel good,” Moses Lake coach Brett Jay said. “It’s two games in a row we’ve had a slow first half, so that gets to us a little bit, but we went back to our fundamentals and that helped us have a solid second half. We’re seeing some different looks each week, which is interesting (because it’s different) than what we’ve seen on tape, so we’re just going to keep taking what they give us. I’m proud of the way we finished tonight.” .
MOSES LAKE – Moses Lake’s high-powered offense has lit up the scoreboard through the first four weeks this fall, allowing the Mavericks to outscore their opponents 168-24 so far this season.
