Seguin, TX, USA / Seguin Today Jan 28, 2021 4:36 AM (Seguin) “There are just not enough vaccines to go around.” Those are the words of Guadalupe County Judge Kyle Kutscher who is providing yet another update and reminder to all those who are looking for the COVID-19 vaccine. “Everything that we’ve been talking about just like the public has been hearing, there’s not enough vaccine to go around. We’ve got right around two million vaccines distributed in the state of Texas for 30 million Texans. If they were distributing 200,000 to 250,000 vaccines per week, it would take over 70 weeks to vaccinate the entire state of Texas, so we’ve got some supply deficiencies to say the least but what we’ve focused on working with our partners in the city of Schertz, Cibolo, Selma, Seguin, New Braunfels and the smaller cities is basically identifying and solidifying those mass vaccination sites within multiple major cities but also with our partners working with volunteer groups

Residents encouraged to sign-up for notification alerts for when those vaccines do come in

(Seguin) Although the county remains on standby, Guadalupe County officials says it is still working to prepare residents for when the COVID-19 vaccines do become available. Patrick Pinder, Guadalupe County emergency management officer, says the first step will be for residents to sign up for the county’s Reverse 9-1-1 system. Pinder says by signing up for this alert, it will provide them with immediate news on any vaccination supply that arrives. “You can go to the county webpage. Go to the emergency management section and on the left hand column, go all the way down, it’s the second from the bottom and you sign up for that. What that does is it provides your information. You put in however you want to be notified, phone call, email, text and what we are going to do is when we find out when we are going to have a vaccine allocation, we are going to notify people through that system. Bryce Houlton, Guadalupe County Assistant Emergency Management Coordinator, provided a snapshot of the latest available data from the Texas Department of State Health Services. Houlton’s report looked at the latest data on case counts, hospitilizations and deaths here in Guadalupe County. “We are still seven to nine days, on average, behind data-wise from the Department of State Health Services,” said Houlton. “Currently in the city of New Braunfels, we have four active cases, two in Cibolo, 12 in Seguin, zero in Schertz, zero in Marion, one in Selma and 18 in the unincorporated areas for a total of

County Judge encourages community to support Youth Show

Seguin, TX, USA / Seguin Today Jan 6, 2021 5:46 AM (Seguin) The Guadalupe County Commissioners Court is also giving a bit of a shout out to the upcoming Guadalupe County Youth Livestock and Homemakers Show. County Judge Kyle Kutscher mentioned the youth show during the close of the court’s meeting on Tuesday. Kutscher says he’s thrilled to hear the the youth show will not be a COVID-19 casualty, and he says it’s good news for the kids that will be presenting their projects this year. “Still go out and support those youth exhibitors. It’s one organization that really supports families from all over the county. There’s definitely a lot of benefit there. Some of these kids have been working on projects for 10, 11, or 12 months. So go out and support them any way you can,” said Kutscher.
