carolyn: good morning, thanks for joining us. i m carolyn tyler. novato fire investigators are looking for one or hour arson enlists suspected of setting a spree of fires last night. it started in the ignacio area that was told by a dozen or more grass fires on the hillsides nearby. this one burned up to a house, but no serious property damage. novato has been plagued by fires over the years. they think it was probably the work of kids. we probably have an idea these are juveniles. we don t know for sure but that is direction we re leaning. our arson investigators are on the scene. carolyn: they won t give specifics how those fires are being started. anyone with information should contact novato police because they are the ones leading this investigation. in the east bay, investigators believe faulty smoke detectors may have led to a deadly fire in bay point. contra costa fire crews were called to the valley oak town homes yesterday morning. fire chief says the body o

mitt romney is holding on to a commanding lead in the state and newt gingrich and rick santorum tried their best to rattle the front runner. the gop candidates showed up ready to spar. for the first time, rick santorum shared center stage, getting more air time and attacks. you re a big government conservative. you vote against everything. i do vote for some spending. santorum and ron paul went head to head over the debt and sparks flew when paul and gingrich clashed over sending americans to war. i personally resent the kind of comments and aspersions he makes without accurate information. i was married and had two kids and i went. mitt romney worked to work above the fray. he never led a business. never led a city. this is the 14th time the gop candidates have shared a stage. several have seen poll numbers dramatically rise and fall based on previous debate performances. john huntsman is running out of time to make an impression on new hampshire voters. i
marched from the plaza. they snaked through downtown. they claim they have been harassed at occupy oakland events in recent weeks. some marchers broke patrol windows, vandalized news advance and someone also lit a fire near 8th and washington street. they uncovered an explosive equal to a quarter stick of dynamite. some occupy oakland protestors are condemning the actions of others saying the majority do not condone that violence. and occupy san jose they will march today from city hall to the santa clara county courthouse starting at noon. this event coincides with the court case held 126 years ago known as santa clara county versus southern pacific railroad. this 1886 case stemmed from the railroad s refusal to pay taxes. it was a dispute over changes to california packs tax law. the u.s. supreme court ultimately ruled in favor of the railroad holding corporation are persons when it comes to equal protections under the 14th amendment. turning to the republican race for
