ALBANY With two games in three days after an abbreviated preseason, UAlbany women’s lacrosse junior Hailey Carroll said she was “pretty sore” following Thursday’s 16-2 non-conference win against St. Bonaventure.
But she had no real complaints about that. Last season ended in cancellation because of the novel coronavirus pandemic, and this year’s season was never truly guaranteed until it actually started.
“We’re just glad to play,” Carroll said during a post-game teleconference.
After a ranked Boston College squad topped UAlbany 22-12 in its season-opening game, the Great Danes bounced back Thursday with an impressive showing at John Fallon Field. Five players registered multiple goals for the Great Danes, which scored the game’s final 13 goals after a 3-2 start.
