Hyderabad (Telangana)[India], July 23 (ANI): India Meteorological Department on Friday predicted heavy rainfall in twelve districts of Telangana. Red alert in three districts including Kumuram Bheem, Jagtial, Warangal, and Orange alert in nine districts of the state, said the IMD.
Meanwhile, about 100 people who were stranded in the floods triggered by heavy rainfall at Nirmal district on Thursday were evacuated by the National Disaster Response Force and State Disaster Response Force teams.
Hyderabad Municipal Corporation officials (GHMC) on Friday with the help of police rescued the residents of the low-lying areas like Musi watershed Basti, Chaderghat, Shankar Nagar, Rasoolpura, Musarambagh, and on Moosi stretch, said Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.

Over 1.19 lakh tests conducted, 17 more die
There was a slight reduction in COVID-positive numbers with 1,813 cases detected on Wednesday as compared to 1,897 cases the previous day. Seventeen persons also died during the day, up by two from Tuesday.
Testing continues to be above one lakh with 1,19,876 tests conducted and 1,420 results awaited as against 1,33,134 tests conducted on Tuesday. However, there is no break-up between rapid or RT-PCR tests in the official bulletin issued by Director of Public Health G. Srinivasa Rao.
Active cases in Telangana are now 24,301. With 17 deaths, the overall death count went up to 3,426. Recoveries have been put at 1,801, a low compared to 2,982 the previous day.
