Counting of votes began on Tuesday morning for bypolls in three Assembly seats and Khandwa Lok Sabha constituency of Madhya Pradesh, an official said. The bye-elections were held on October 30. In the Khandwa Lok Sabha seat, BJP candidate Gyaneshwar Patil was leading by 2,033 votes over his Congress rival Rajnarayan Singh Purni after the first round, the official said. The
Out of 29 assembly seats, the BJP was holding around half a dozen, the Congress had nine, while the rest were with the regional parties. The counting of votes will take place on November 2.
