Swedish furniture giant IKEA steps up expansion in India to make up for lost time due to Covid-19
The company, which opened its first store in Hyderabad in 2018, is targetting to roll out more stores in 30 Indian cities within seven years.

Furniture giant Ikea is accelerating its India expansion after a nationwide pandemic lockdown last year delayed the construction and opening of new stores in one of its fastest-growing markets.
“If you have a lockdown you can’t continue to construct,” Peter Betzel, Ikea’s chief executive officer for India said in an interview. “But now we are back in full speed.”

Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) on Wednesday said it will discontinue its CR-V and Civic models in the country, as the automaker formally announced the closure of manufacturing operations at its Greater Noida facility in Uttar Pradesh. Both these models were being manufactured at the plant.

Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd (JFL) on Wednesday said it has entered into the Biryani segment with a new brand ‘Ekdum!’ as part of its portfolio expansion.
JFL, part of Jubilant Bhartia Group, is one of the largest food service companies and operates Domino’s Pizza restaurants, Dunkin’ Donuts and Hong’s Kitchen.
