The jury trial has begun in the case of a man accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting his friends’ son during the boy s early teen years.
James Bachmann, now 57, was initially arrested in July 2002 on suspicion of sexually assaulting his friends child two to three times per month for three years, while the child was in seventh through ninth grades, according to arrest documents at that time.
The victim who is now in his 30s with a child of his own told his parents back in 2002 that Bachmann inappropriately touched him during sleepovers at Bachmann’s house when Bachmann thought he was asleep, Deputy District Attorney Luke Birky told the jury during opening statements Thursday.
Fort Collins Bomb Scare Ends Up Being Car Part Stuffed in Mailbox
The Northern Colorado Bomb Squad was deployed on Friday (Feb. 5).
A stretch of North College Avenue was closed for a couple hours and nearby businesses were evacuated as a suspicious package was found stuffed into a mailbox of a local business.
Fortunately the item turned out to be non-explosive. Fort Collins Police reported that the item was an auto part known as an advanced capacitor, likely meant for a nearby auto parts store.
Bomb squad investigators used a robot to scan the mailbox that was located on the 1100 block of N. College Avenue.
A stabbing on the 2100 block of Bronson Street put three Fort Collins schools briefly on secure status on Thursday (Jan. 14).
A 74-year-old male allegedly stabbed a 65-year-old female victim, who was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
When authorities arrived on the scene around 10 a.m., the suspect refused to exit the home. A SWAT team was brought in for the situation.
Around 12:45 p.m. officers entered the home and were able to safely contact the man. The suspect was transported to an area hospital for evaluation after the incident. I m grateful for the work of our first responder partners who helped provide care for all involved in this incident, said FCPS Assistant Chief Kristy Volesky in a press release about the incident.
