UWS Announces Commencement Will Be Virtual May 15 The University of Wisconsin Superior has announced that their spring commencement ceremony will be virtual this year. The commencement will happen on May 15, 2021. People can watch the virtual ceremony that takes place at noon on May 15 online through the University of Wisconsin Superior s website. In a press release UWS has said that while there isn t an in person ceremony, they will still hold an event where graduates can walk the stage. They want to give graduates a chance to experience as much of a normal experience as possible. They will have the opportunity to walk the stage and receive their diploma from UWS Chancellor  Renee Wachter. They also can pose for a picture.

Among the 431 candidates for graduation this spring, 134 are first-generation students, 108 are graduate and specialist degree candidates and 32 are student veterans. The oldest graduating student is 69 years old with the youngest student earning a diploma at 20 years old, according to a news release from UWS. While there will not be an in-person ceremony, graduates will have the opportunity to walk across the stage and Chancellor Renée Wachter will present their diploma and pose for a picture.
