KLQP this week marked 40 years as an independent radio station. The Madison, Minnesota, station is unabashedly local, featuring high school sports, talk shows with local guests and community news.
The Madison Mercantile will host Franz Allbert Richter's "A Life in Art" exhibition through the month of November. An opening reception will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Mercantile, 601 First Street, in Madison.

In the belief that the arts can transform rural communities, it is now launching a $900,000 capital campaign to renovate the Yes! House in Granite Falls to carry out its work.
