The company is seeking to set up the data centers in industrial centers and smart cities, based on its expertise in that segment. KT currently operates 13 data centers in Korea, including Seoul s largest hyper-scale data center in Yongsan, which opened in November.

SEOUL - South Korean President Moon Jae-in has voiced hopes for his country to become one of the world s top 10 economies this year, saying that economic growth is expected to rebound to pre-Covid-19 levels by the first half of the year. Speaking at the World Economic Forum s Davos Agenda on Wednesday (Jan 27), he said South Korea managed to minimise economic damage due to the pandemic last year and achieved the highest growth rate among members of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). South Korea s gross domestic product was the 12th largest in the world last year, according to World Bank data. The list was topped by the United States, followed by China and Japan.
