Saradha Scam: CBI moves SC seeking arrest and custodial interrogation of ex-Kolkata Police chief Rajeev Kumar

Ex-Kolkata Police Chief Rajeev Kumar (File photo)  |  Photo Credit: IANS Kolkata: Fourteen months after the Calcutta High Court granted anticipatory bail to former Kolkata Police commissioner Rajeev Kumar in the Saradha chit fund scam, the CBI has filed a fresh application seeking its cancellation and custodial interrogation.  In the petition filed in the apex court Saturday evening, CBI says that though while granting bail the high court had made it clear that Kumar must cooperate with the probe, he has been evasive about missing pieces of evidence in relation to the probe and therefore his arrest and custodial interrogation was essential.
