National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrests PFI ‘master trainer’ Jafar Bheemantavida from his house in Kannur in a conspiracy case against the now banned Popular Front of India (PFI).
A Palakkad native has been sentenced to ten years of rigorous imprisonment by a special NIA court for his involvement with the terror outfit IS. The court found him guilty of being a member of IS and providing support to its activities.
A man was arrested for allegedly attempting to traffic women through manipulating their passports. The accused, Liaqat Ali, 53, of Malappuram, was arrested by crime branch (Ernakulam rural). The case pertains to a foiled attempt to traffic five women to Kuwait through Kochi airport which was foiled in September last year.
