It’s been more than a year since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, but it’s only recently the Brainerd Public Library has resumed its normal building hours for its downtown facility. But even when its doors were closed last year, it continued to serve its patrons.
Street signs highlight historic downtown Brainerd
There were 40 signs that were hung up in downtown Brainerd in 2017 featuring images of historic downtown Brainerd. The signs are located between Fourth and Eighth streets, and Front and Laurel streets, close to where the original photo was taken. 5:00 am, Apr. 12, 2021 ×

‘Name That Town’
Photographer and storyteller Doug Ohman will share an interactive virtual presentation, Name That Town, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, presented by Kitchigami Regional Library. Fishing extravaganza
The Brainerd Jaycees Virtual Ice Fishing Extravaganza will take place from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, on any lake in Minnesota. Anglers must download the FishDonkey app to sign up and pay for the contest, and to upload pictures of fish taken next to a bump board to enter fish into the contest. Winning fish will be declared by length.
