Ja Quan Sutton charged by Kinston Police Department for obstruction

Kinston/Jones Free Press (kfp) Ja Quan Sutton, 22, of Kinston was charged with obstruction of justice charges related to multiple calls of shots fired in Kinston Thursday afternoon.  Officers arrived in the area of Charlotte Ave and Dixon street and located several shell casings in the roadway but no injuries or property damage was reported, according to a news release.  The Kinston Police Department places the highest priority on investigating crimes of violence perpetrated in our city. We will investigate such cases with no compromise for crime, and continue to seek assistance from the community we proudly serve. If anyone has information about this incident, please call the Kinston Police Department’s Tips Line at 252-939-4020 or Lenoir County Crime Stoppers at 252-523-4444.
