Lady Eagles no-hit Exeter to win district championship
The Purdy softball teams Class 1, District 5 campaign was a week of three games with similar results, as the Lady Eagles defeated their opponents by a combined score of 44-0 en route to a district title.
Purdy (27-1), the No. 1 ranked team in Class 1, capped the display on Thursday with a 14-0, five-inning no-hitter over Exeter at Miller High School. The Lady Eagles bested Wheaton 15-0 on Monday in three innings, then dispatched of Billings 15-0 on Wednesday, also in three innings.

Lady Eagles ranked No. 1 in Class 1
Coaches in any sport will say theres no better way to get a target on your back than by being considered the best, and if that is the case, no bigger target can be painted on the back of the Purdy softball team.
The Lady Eagles (17-1) last week were named the No. 1-ranked team in Class 1, and there are any number of scores and stats over 18 games that give credence to the claim.

Puckett bucket at halftime buzzer motivates Lady Eagles to win
A 3-pointer at the halftime buzzer on Monday was all the motivation Pierce City needed on Monday to push ahead for a quarterfinal district tournament win over Purdy, 48-36.
Chelsey Puckett popped the shot from beyond the arc, giving the Lady Eagles a 30-22 advantage at the break, the tightest scoreline for the remainder of the game.

Lady Eagles come into own as conference play nears
A fast start from Pierce City allowed the team to hang on to a late lead and pick up a road win Thursday at Purdy.
The Lady Eagles, 6-9, led 29-15 at halftime, and while Purdy turned up the heat in the final quarter, the lead never dipped into single-digits and the Lady Eagles ruled the nest, 52-37.
