The Cassville baseball team earned a trio of All-Big 8 West nods, with senior Zach Acheson named Second Team infield, sophomore Isaac Hadlow named Second Team infield and junior Tim Hudson named Honorable Mention outfield.

Schad overcomes hip injury in state championship
Purdy first baseman Robyn Schad has been dealing with a hip issue all season long, and the junior forced herself to overcome the pain one last time on Sunday with the Lady Eagles first ever state title on the line.
In the game, Schad had hit a pop out to right field in the second, then reached on a fielding error in the third, resulting in the first score of the game by Kinsley Mattingly.

Lady Eagles top Hume in state quarterfinals, 10-2
A pitchers battle devolved into a melee on Wednesday, as the Purdy softball team put up 5 runs in the sixth and seventh innings to earn a 10-2 win and Class 1 State Semifinal berth.
Lori Videmschek, Purdy coach, said it was a relief for her team to finally overcome the state quarterfinal hump.
