A handful of Kingsbridge merchants are forced to start anew this holiday season, after a fire broke out in the early morning of Dec. 13, engulfing a handful of businesses and leaving those nearby with flooded basements.
After being closed for several years and left to be covered in graffiti, the Land & Sea Restaurant on 5535 Broadway is finally being demolished and in its place is coming a joint Burger King and Popeyes.
A smoke shop at 206 W. 231st St., was raided by the New York City’s Sheriff Department on Monday, April 17 at approximately 2 p.m. Officers were seen on video taking large plastic bags of merchandise out of 206 Candy & Convenience Inc. and placed in a black van.
An on-duty female Queens officer who was helping with New York sheriff’s office raid of a smoke shop April 17 at 206 W. 231st St. was struck in her head from behind with a glass bottle.
