Isle Of Wight School Worker Charged With Grooming Child
Ellen Cadman-Smith, of Kingfisher Close, Newport, appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Tuesday).
The 22 year old has been charged with grooming a boy under the age of 16 between February 1, 2020, and February 21, 2020.
She has also been charged with engaging in sexual communication with a child between January 31, 2020, and March 4, 2020.
It s also alleged she exchanged text messages of sexual nature with a boy under the age of 16.
Miss Cadman-Smith has been granted conditional bail and will appear at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on June 14.

THE CASE against a 22-year-old Newport woman, charged with grooming a child while working at an Isle of Wight school, has been sent to the Isle of Wight Crown Court. Ellen Cadman-Smith, of Kingfisher Close, appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday. She has been charged with grooming a boy under the age of 16, between February 1, 2020, and February 21, 2020. She is also charged with engaging in sexual communication with a child, between January 31, 2020, and March 4, 2020. The former student progress mentor is alleged to have exchanged messages with a boy under 16 which were sexual in nature.
Adrian Smith, who turned 60 last August, is looking to raise £6,000 for Open Doors. The charity supports persecuted Christians around the world and Adrian has worked as a speaker for Open Doors in far-flung countries such as Iraq, Lebanon and Vietnam. Adrian, of Kingfisher Close, Shoebury, is more than halfway through his fundraising quest to take on 60 challenges and the tasks have allowed him to get involved in activities he would never have originally considered. He said: “Before taking on the 60 at 60 challenge, I had already completed a marathon in Lebanon and the Great North Run. “I wanted to do something to celebrate turning 60 and then it was suggested that I could do 60 things.
