National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa workers yesterday downed tools voicing their anger as salary increase negotiations with employers in the engineering sector have deadlocked. The workers are demanding an 8% increase.
More than 2000 Numsa members will be making their way from King Dinuzulu Park in Berea to the Durban City Hall in a national strike action after wage negotiations deadlocked in the engineering sector. Numsa is demanding an 8% wage increase while employers are offering just 4%.
