Richard Sherman released, faces four non-felony charges

A King County (Wash.) District Court judge Thursday ordered the release of NFL star Richard Sherman, who faces four misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor charges, per the Seattle Times.
Sherman waived his first court appearance. Prosecutors asked for bail in the amount of $10,000 but Judge Fa amomoiMasaniai released Sherman on his own recognizance. I see Mr. Sherman is a pillar in this community, he s a business owner, he s a husband, he s a father, Judge Masaniai said, per Audacy Sports. I m gonna release Mr. Sherman.
In addition, Masaniai ruled that Sherman not have contact with his father-in-law.

His felony burglary domestic violence charge was downgraded to misdemeanor criminal trespass.
He can t possess firearms, can t use drugs or alcohol, must return to court when requested and has a no-contact order with his father-in-law. Sherman will return to court Friday for a hearing on his four pending misdemeanors malicious mischief, DUI, criminal trespass (with a domestic violence designation) and resisting arrest. Future NFL Hall of Famer Richard Sherman was released from jail without bail after appearing in front of a judge on Thursday.
The King County court judge recognized Sherman as a pillar in this community but placed some strict conditions on his release while the case plays out. For starters, Sherman is ordered to stay away from his father-in-law, as well as not possess any firearms. He is also barred from consuming alcohol.

In a harrowing 911 call, Richard Sherman s wife expressed that her husband was entertaining suicidal thoughts before his arrest early Wednesday morning. Authorities believe what transpired leading up to the arrest was a drunken night that resulted in him crashing his SUV and rendering it undrivable. Not to mention threats to hang himself.
