SALEM A woman asked police at 10:10 a.m. Friday how to obtain a protection order and reported possible telephone harassment, saying her ex-husband has been contacting her and she wanted him to stop. Officers made contact with him and told him if he continues, he’ll face criminal charges. A barking dog was reported at 9:42 a.m. Friday in the 100 block of South Union Avenue. Officers could hear the dog and left a note for the owner, who wasn’t home. Police were called at 5:15 a.m. Friday to the 800 block of East Sixth Street where a woman reported possibly hearing someone in her basement. Officers checked the basement and the interior of the residence, but no one was found.
WOODBURY, CT - Gertrude Hardisty, of Woodbury, died Wednesday, January 13 surrounded by her family. She was the widow of Chester C. Hardisty.
Gert was born in Waterbury, CT November 15, 1929, daughter of the late Henry and Katherine (Conley) Cassidy. She was a graduate of Staasburg High School in Staatsburg, NY.
