Extension specialistsâ workloads monitored
A newly signed law requires the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents and UW-Madison chancellor to develop policies to monitor and report on Extension and outreach workloads of specialists funded by the UW-Division of Extension. The measure pertains to Extension-funded faculty and staff who work in applied agriculture at UW-Platteville, UW-River Falls, UW-Stevens Point, or UW-Madisonâs College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.
âOur state specialists are doing amazing work on the ground and in their communities, helping farmers adapt and grow their businesses and supporting the agricultural industry that is the backbone of our state,â said Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers. âIâm glad to sign this bill so they can continue doing their good work and be recognized for going above and beyond for our farmers and our state.â

The Crestview Local PTO and the Learning is Cool After School Program hosted a drive thru Cookies with Santa 2.0 event last weekend at Crestview Elementary. Due to COVID-19, the usual in person Cookies with Santa event was unable to happen so both programs collaborated to bring joy to the families at Crestview. The PTO and after school program created gift bags for each child which consisted of a candy cane, pre-made reindeer food, a holiday cup, hot chocolate packet, and sugar cookie compliments of Das Dutch Haus Restaurant. Mrs. Gladman, Elementary School Guidance Counselor, was on hand to accept donations of toys and winter items that will go directly to Crestview families. Santa, Mrs. Claus, one of Santa’s elves, and the Grinch were all on hand to wave and say hello to the cars as they drove by.
