Kootenay Employment Services has hired Recovery Advisors for the Creston Valley‐ Kootenay Lake region, Cranbrook‐Kimberley and surrounding areas.
Amy Hotchkiss and Kris Dickeson are ready to hit the pavement and assist businesses in connecting to existing supports under the ETSI‐BC Rural Business and Community Recovery Program.
Hotchkiss is based out of the Creston Valley‐Kootenay Lake and brings a background in international economic development.
“I am looking forward to meeting local business owners and hearing firsthand the challenges they are facing,” she said. “The Creston Valley is overflowing with potential to be a place where people can afford to live and work. We hope to help the business community and help them grow.”

Marysville Daze 2019
The COVID-19 pandemic and its third wave is causing the cancellation again of two major community events in Kimberley.
Steven Royer, President of the Mark Creek Lions Club, today reported that Marysville Daze 2021 is cancelled again due to COVID.
And for the second straight year Kimberley’s biggest event, and one of the region’s largest and longest running annual events, is being kept shuttered.
Kimberley Chamber of Commerce reports that JulyFest 2021 is being cancelled.
JulyFest is always held in the third week of July while Marysville Daze is traditionally held on the first Sunday in June.
Trades Person/Business of the Year Award goes to Sommer Electric
The Trades Business or Person of the Year Award recognizes a business or individual involved in the trades that consistently provides a high level of service and quality workmanship, and supports apprentices and growth in their industry.
