Recovery advisors poised to help local businesses | Columbia Valley, Cranbrook, East Kootenay, Kimberley

Posted: June 3, 2021 Amy Hotchkiss Kootenay Employment Services has hired Recovery Advisors for the Creston Valley‐ Kootenay Lake region, Cranbrook‐Kimberley and surrounding areas. Amy Hotchkiss and Kris Dickeson are ready to hit the pavement and assist businesses in connecting to existing supports under the ETSI‐BC Rural Business and Community Recovery Program. Hotchkiss is based out of the Creston Valley‐Kootenay Lake and brings a background in international economic development. “I am looking forward to meeting local business owners and hearing firsthand the challenges they are facing,” she said. “The Creston Valley is overflowing with potential to be a place where people can afford to live and work. Posted: February 24, 2021 Online event will have many of the same features as annual in-person fair College of the Rockies is joining with WorkBC to host the East Kootenay Virtual Career Fair on Wednesday, March 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. “Because of the ongoing pandemic, our Career Fair has transitioned to a virtual event for this year,” said Jenn Smith, Co-op and Employment Services Coordinator. Jenn Smith, College of the Rockies’ Co-op and Employment Services Coordinator, looks forward to welcoming job seekers and employers to the East Kootenay Virtual Career Fair on March 3. “The experience will remain similar, however, as our online platform will still allow job seekers to submit their resumes to employers, to video or text chat with business representatives, and to attend virtual breakout sessions presented by employers and industry experts.”
