UNT Facilities team embodied their core values of service, excellence and integrity all week. The Grounds crew handled snow and ice removal from the onset, keeping walkways and streets safe, while helping mitigate further structural damage from the extreme winter conditions. Maintenance teams for campus and auxiliary facilities worked nonstop throughout the crisis. Some facilities team members even camped out in their offices to ensure around-the-clock support, while others braved hazardous roads in the middle of the night to respond to emergencies. Team leaders built and maintained 24/7 shifts while key team members juggled all the data and damage reports in a time when communications capabilities were spotty, at best, with limited to no internet access and inconsistent cellular service throughout the area.

Federal employee job satisfaction climbed during pandemic -- FCW

By Natalie Alms   The Office of Personnel Management released governmentwide results from its annual employee survey on Monday, opening a window into views on their engagement and satisfaction at work, as well as insight on the shift to telework during the pandemic. The Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey was postponed twice last year because of the pandemic before rolling out in September. Its content also changed, with new sections on the pandemic added and the usual recurring sections streamlined. Overall, 624,800 feds from 82 agencies participated. Overall, feds rated their experiences highly. The governmentwide global satisfaction went up four points to 69%. The overall employee engagement index, an average of three sections focused on employees relationship with their supervisors, perception of agency leadership and work experience, went up to 72%, as compared to 68% in 2019.

The overall employee engagement score for feds who worked three or more days of telework a week was 76 percent compared with only 62.5 percent engagement for those employees who could not telework.
