Wyoming Healthcare Workers to Receive 5,000 COVID-19 Vaccines Pending FDA Approval

WYOMING Governor Mark Gordon announced Monday to Wyoming legislators that Wyoming healthcare workers could be receiving 5,000 first doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 Coronavirus vaccine within the coming week or so. House District 48 Representative Clark Stith said on his Facebook page Monday that Governor Gordon made the announcement during the Joint Appropriations Committee initial budget meeting Monday morning. Representative Stith added that 15,000 doses are expected by the end of the year. The AP Press reported today that a U.S. advisory government panel endorsed the Pfizer vaccine Thursday, in which Pfizer has claimed 95 percent efficacy of the drug. The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is currently evaluating Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine, and a decision of approval is expected within days. With the advisory panel’s endorsement, the FDA is expected to approve and shots will begin to be administered to the first round of people, which includes healthcare workers
