Disappoint people. We are looking if you are in the a fan of the cold air to even colder conditions, in the days ahead here but that is for the next pretty clear the next couple days. Can you you tell that there are a few flurries flying around here. We have since looking out we overlook parking lot at our station headquarters, final dustin on the car windshield. The it is not sticking easily to the paved surfaces but there are still lingering snow showers out here. You will see that very well represented on storm scan three. Snow showers look worse sometimes then they are. It is very light to snow, currently falling here in the Broadcast Center and Del Marva Peninsula, up and down i95 but do expect that the aftermath of this storm system will continue to full retreat. Aftermath issues will come into play where you run into pockets of ice, and anything that was wet, damp from yesterday has had a chance to refreeze now that the temperatures dropped off. We will give you caution yellow l
Colder then that for a couple days. Very chilly air mass settling in the the days ahead. For now it is cold, it is wintertime, and that is supporting lingering snow flurries and straight up snow shower here and there but no additional accumulation at this point expect. We did mention that black ice issue. I feel like we have talk about it a lot. I dont want message to go unnoticed because you start to sound like a broken record with enough times with things like this but if it was untreated, sidewalks, side streets, anything that was left untreated just assume it could be slick. That could include your front porch and your front step. You dont want first step out the door to make you take a tumble. Just take it easy and get to your destination safely. Current temperatures at or below freezing mark in most instances. The that is enough to certainly support the idea of black ice, with any refreezing taking place. Lingering flurries, granted but we will notice as the day progresses, the w
But that said, when it comes to storms like this, not so much. Soap, let me explain. We go on outside one more time, show you storm scan, when we start things off at least. Snow at the moment is primarily falling through the delmarva peninsula, southern most tip here. Did see couple of flow flakes out on the skydeck, but not enough to really even get underway here. Brunt of any moisture at this point, pretty much over the delmarva peninsula. Kent and sucks he is count it is getting in, but everybody gets in on it at some point. It will be arriving for everyone by 8 00 a. M. Throughout the course of the morning, just spreads in from south to north, wintery mix then developing today p. M. Rush. Talking snow mix withing or changing over to sleet, maybe freezing rain, as milder air starts to nudge in. And as it does so, eventually, starting to see it turn over to plane old rain in from south to north. That does mean icing could become a problem. Soap, we jump you to 6 00 p. M. This afterno
The way folks Winter Weather advisory had not included southern new jersey, it does now. So, everybody is included here, right through the day, some spots it does expire little sooner than other but the general dip, walk you through future weather. Notice what happens here. Any snow lift in slowly but surely from south to north. And everyone is into it at some point by the mid to late afternoon. In the mixing line, height of typical rush hour shall seeing the pink sliver of sleet, and freezing rain, lifting through that will continue to lift north, so everybody gets in on at least little light before it turns over to plane rain for now, one to 2 inches of initial snow, then eventually starts to mix over and turn to all of the other kind of precipitation later on. Going to be messy one, thank you so much, katie. Well, good morning right now. Looking pretty darn good. Looking it he vine, headlights moving in the westbound direction at 21st street before the schuylkill. See it is looking
Very strong storm. Temperatures surged yesterday. We have seen them get scaled back. This is your temperature difference from this same time yesterday. You have dropped from ten to 15 to 20 plus degrees in these spots or you have leveled off. It depend on your location. Regardless the story is, were back to reality, folks. We will look at storm scan, wider zoom you can see that shield of clouds moving away. That is what is left of the storm system a and we are in the clearly sentencely. Dont worry about that pocket of snow you see over the lakes region that will not impact us. With that said it is a cooler day. We are back where we should be, where were in about 44 degrees on this day of the year, here in philadelphia we expect to hit 46. Not terrible. We do expect that sun as well, but we will call it partly sunny, still a tad breezy in the wake of the storm as High Pressure takes its the place but not a bad forecast and thinks a great break meisha that will last us quite a while.
