Actually going to last us over the course of two Straight Days here. Large system, slow mover since it will last us a long time before out of here. But nor now, actually i step to this side, you can see center city off in the distance, facing essentially south here, outside palmyra cove. Sign every things to come. Already got the snow beginning to lift in here specially across kent county, getting hit with some steadier banding soy spec to go see modest accumulation out of the storm system before miler a comes in and starts to get the transition over to ice and rain. Storm system i wouldnt call the most organized looking system but clearly have march kate dollars line here dropping southeast, Severe Weather in the deep south. For us it really is just that mix, and the change over thats going to mess with us more than anything. We have since updated our snowfall expectations for some of these southern counties, since you have had the snow coming down, for couple of hours already. Expecting more of one to 3inch swat but looks as though once the snow gets underway for you in the Lehigh Valley, poconos, could ends up 5 inches, over achieving there, more like coating to inch potentially, potentially up to two, across some of the shore towns. But you are going to need to see the snow move in relatively quickly for that to take place. Eventually rain takes over, once it does you have flood thread that will get underway here, thats specially true for tomorrow, the seven day forecast, definitely action packed, in the front loaded part of this, but then later on in the week it does sort of quiet down here. Good morning, Winter Weather advisory has been issued for our area. Tracking some snow, sleet, and freezing rain went are you mix going to cause travel problems throughout the day, but can you at least, this storm more interesting, so little mixed bag. Not just snow. Very much so. Deeming with the sleet, the freezing rain, then just plane old rain, i think that ends up being more of the legacy of the storm than anything. Anybody problem is there in the form of snow, when we zoom in little bit here on storm scan, we start things offer here, you can see the snow starting to hover in. And as it continues to lift north with time here youre dealing with it region wide. But at the moment it is kent and Sussex County concern across cumberland, Atlantic Cape may county as it all lifts in from south to north greating it first obviously and the later it gets, you know, start to see it up toward the Lehigh Valley and the pocono region with time. Nothing more tan couple of flakes flying through the northern suburbs, the general gist is this through the day start with snow, eventually see slight and ice take over, and then it all changes over it rain, that includes even the coldest spots like the mountains. From south to north, with time, watch for icy travel out there, especially for p. M. Rush. Initially morning drive strictly snow, light fluffy variety here. When we talk about the kind of precipitation, region by region makes a difference since it is one of the complicated setups depending on location, see Something Different and timing, timing can be different but see everything across the blue shaded area snow, ice, rain, just snow and ice through today, across the pink sliver including i95. Then it all lift in as plane rain for everyone else as the day goes on and into the night. Meantime Winter Weather advisory currently posted it, lasts expires at differ ren times, but everyone gets in on this throughout the day it, will create major headaches on the roads. If youre up ellie, thanks are looking from prep day darn nice right now. A lot of people heeding the warning, hitting roadway, little quicker but the one area that im surprised, 95 south at cottman holding steady. Frozen camera still shot what you are looking at. Again the good news in this area you are still traveling positioned seeds, why were seeing an area certainly heating up. King of prussia the schuylkill headlights moving in the eastbound direction, this is near 202, you can see, just a flood of vehicles out there both taillights, headlight, on the schuylkill again king of prussia area. Letting you know that even though the kiddos might be offer school today, a lot of people still have to work. It will get busy out there specially probably get one of the later rushes on this holiday. Blue route northbound near route one, looking good, both directions actually looking pretty good although again keeping our eye on the volume levels on this holiday, it is heating up out there. Trump struck back by criticizing chief justice john robber. He vote in the favor of obama care. He got there because ted cruz pushed him like wild. On cnn state of the union, jeb bush took a more measured tone. Marco rubio dismissed concerns about the Supreme Court working for months with only eight justice. So lets let the voters way in in november. Then well have an appointment. Does it all the time. But candidates on the other side of the aisle accuse mcconnell and republicans of ignoring the constitution. I dont think that Mitch Mcconnell has it right on this issue. The constitution is pretty clear. And that is it is the job of the president of the United States to appoint, nominate, members to the Supreme Court, and the senate confirms. President obama said he would nominate someone to the bench and that is exactly what he should be doing, and later mcconnell should follow the constitutional process. Reporter oh, no, no, no erika, im not coming out, please, please, step into my offers here. Were all wondering who the 45th president of the United States will be, well, if it depends on who is sitting behind the oval office desk, think tis me this morning. How cool is this actually the end of the new exhibit at the National Constitution center called headed to the white howls, here we are in the overing one of so many different inter active spaces you can bring kids to and they can learn in, this one, what would you do in what was the first thing would you do whether you make it to the white house . Someone said cry. So funny stuff going on here, mark harris is here, training manager to walk us through all of the different exhibits. This is the ends. This is great. But really that is journey from very beginning to end. So talk a little bit about what kids and parents can expect . It is, sort of looking at the whole process start to finish watch does it take to get someone elected president . You begin at the decision to actually announce your candidacy, you can practice giving a speech, in a president ial fashion, with a 19 60s style tell he prom tore. You have to secure interest in your own campaign, so you can be a Campaign Manager activity. Definitely have to make yourself campaign sticker do. Not miss the wall of hands shake hands, you got to get out there and meet the matches to get elected. Interesting, wall, you guys, every arms with hands, you have to kiss couple of babies, shake couple every hands to become president . Thats right. You get a chance to make your own tv commercial, make your own campaign aid, high energy stuff, the part that everybody plays in the process . Gets the kids engaged but stuff for adult, a ton of memorabilia, artifacts that can really pull at heart strings. I saw some cans every society an out there for campaign memorabilia. How cool is that . Yep, the object we have in the exhibit i think are really great. Talking about kim of 1964 election, one called johnson juice, for president lincoln johnson, nerds cold water for barry golds water. Here in philadelphia we hosed the Republican National convention, so commemorative tastykake wrapper 2,000rnc on it, fun stuff, tells us more about how do we choose our president every four years. What about better place to do this than philadelphia specially with the Democratic National convention coming to town. One highlight before we sends back to the station definitely you dont want to miss when you come to the he can inch submit. One of the most valuable things will actually be to watch our presidency 101 show our staff will be offering, in our lobby, quick look at everything that goes into the presidency, talks little bit about the many hats that the president has to wear, a lot of fun, and definitely shows you more about the highest offers in the count. I why not learn about it this year, guys, thins is election year, what better day to start than today. Admission is free, erika, back into you. Jan, im sure youve been hearing all morning long, testing our viewers president ial knowledge. Now a question for you. Are you ready . Right. Who was the tallest president , january, what do you think . Lets go with abraham lincoln. I know he was tall and skinny and if you count the hat. High five. Gold star for you. You are absolutely right. Abraham lincoln. He stood 6 feet 4 inches, tall, thats without the hat. Im impressed. You have been learning a lot as youve been there all morning. Jan, thanks so much. Of course. Oh, well that was fun, well done, jan our smart girl there. All right, so cold, turning to our forecast right now, you can tell from space, look at that, what you are looking at picture of the polar vortex, astronaut scott took that from the International Spare station tweeting it saying quote it even looks cold from here. But katie, the upside to ooh what your forecast is, at least the warm air will move . Absolutely, tracking snow, but also tracking more than that. With this storm system, because what were finding with the snow is actually believe it or not a warmfront lifting in. Well discuss the ins and out of the storm in a second here. But initially snow is the concern for your tramples. Eyewitness weather watchers are starting to see little hint of it. Still early, but we do have couple of reports at this point of generally just couple of light flurries, margo finding that, in South Central new jersey weve been seeing that sort of lift in here. Just beginning, with flurries for her. And it is frigid. She advises to layer up as you head out. Thankfully not terribly windy. Thats good news to go with this, a lot of temperatures in the teens, lynn, also finding handful of flurries, in cherry hill, shes so glad that shes got the holiday off. If you are lucky enough to be finding the i day inside here just enjoying the day with the holiday. Lucky you. Still cold outside. Temperatures gogo on uphill climb. Allentown, just clouds, for julia at this point. Thats going to change. And it will change for everybody. No matter where you reside. Again, this is all lifting in from the south with time. The bulk of it at this point, though, basically could you draw a line say from atlanta back to Cumberland County back to kent, all ports south that far are basically where you are finding the snow at this point. But it continues to lift north with time. And the different kind of impact that you will find with this are starting with snow, then eventually mixing in, and eventually rain. It is primarily for just the Daylight Hours, all snow for the poconos, once it starts, three to 5 inches for you, in philly and the suburbs just through the Daylight Hours snow turns over to mix, talking generally one to 3inch swat of light fluffy snow, mix that turns over to rain eventually before the sunsets, down toward the shore towns. Now, the seven day forecast, does bring in heavy rain by tomorrow. The reason . Very mild air, surging in here, likely have lull in that rain, specially about this time tomorrow. But the heavy rain regardless going to be coming through at some point. As it does, flooding then becomes a concern. So lots of moving piece was this one, meisha. Time to get ready. Were pushing toward the 7 00 now, but we know when it gets around 8 00 when it will get sketchy. Already, in the king of prussia area, the schuylkill headlight moving in the eastbound direction near 202, this little amp right here when it was shining we could see all of that snow starting to come down. So it is starting to trick nel now, not that thats causing any major hiccups now, but know it is. Right now though we are remaining steady, built up our volume at the end of that 5 00 hour pushing into the 6 00 hour, now just casino of remaining steady, 59 south at girard looking pretty good there.
