Oval of Honor Celebrating Local Veterans

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - One local event is celebrating the veterans throughout the Miami Valley. The Ford Oval of Honor is set for July 20th at 6:30 p.m. at the Air Force Museum. Kim Frisco, Executive Director of the Montgomery County Veterans Service Commission, said the event is meant to celebrate local Veterans and their service to our country. Montgomery County Donating Coats To Vets In Need

Listen • 0:58 With winter settling in across the Miami Valley, the Montgomery County Veterans Services Commission is providing winter coats to local veterans in need. The coats will be distributed on January 15, in Dayton. Kim Frisco is executive director for the commission. “We re looking to focus on those veterans that are absolutely in need, she says. Our veteran has to have an honorable or under honorable conditions discharge paperwork, which is a DD214. They must be a Montgomery County resident, since these are taxpayers dollars and they have to be at or below two hundred and fifty percent of the federal poverty level.
