Employment, they tend to have less or no recidivism. They dont go back into the criminal lifestyle. They become taxpayers. If they have had some type of alcohol or drug addiction, they stop that. I know that there are a lot of people here. I see maybe two empty chairs. If folks can squeeze in because i know a lot of people want to be here for this hearing. Please, if you can do that. So, the legislation before us today is one that we actually approved several years ago just for the city and county of San Francisco for employees of city and county of San Francisco. And what was behind it was removing the barriers resulting from the stigma associated with the conviction history, means more opportunity for work and [speaker not understood] for the 700,000 citizens who are released here every year and one in four adults every year who have conviction and histories.
