until we get justice for my son. today s hearing comes after to shelby county sheriff s deputies were suspended for five days. an internal investigation found they did not notify dispatch they arrived on scene after the beating, and failed to keep their body cameras on. six memphis police officers have been fired the city says, and seven more remain under investigation. tonight, the family of tyre nichols finding reason to hope, amid so much grief. civil rights attorney and former prosecutor david henderson joins me now. okay, david, the officers entered a not guilty plea. we see the package from priscilla thompson, their lawyers believe there s more to see. but we have all seen the videos. what defense can these officers bring? you know, the only real defense here is to put the memphis police department on
indictment, i think it s coming out i m like a freight train and that s what the op-ed is about. that s something to point out, however, the op-ed says, look, she can bring the charges, and i do believe she will. not just against trump, like a dozen other actors in washington in georgia. but it gets pretty quickly, and there s going to be a mess of motions and a year of more until a jury is actually sworn. that s the sort of sub headline to that op-ed, i think it s accurate as well. she s coming at him, as soon as she does, there will be a lot of skirmish-ing and people are hoping for, and immediate trial and an immediate conviction. that won t happen. justice rolls slowly, harry lippman, john allen and david thank you all very much. coming up, we ve got the former memphis police officers that story who recused of killing tyre nichols. they appear in court. what we re hearing from the
