The Oklahoma State Board of Education will oversee all school board operations of Western Heights Public Schools after the district was placed on a 90-day probation that ended last week.Board members said Western Heights Public Schools repeatedly failed to address the issues, like mismanagement and poor performance, that put it on probation in the first place. The state is taking action with the hopes the district will be put back on track. We are disgusted at what has transpired in the two short years, a parent said during Monday s Oklahoma State Board of Education meeting.Western Heights Public Schools officials failed to show up to answer whether they ve corrected a list of complaints that led to their probation.The general counsel wanted to amend conditions of accreditation with probation. The conditions included the state overseeing the district s operations for a year, implementing an improvement plan, designating state and community leaders and teams to oversee performan
