ASWSU hosts representatives from the Crimson Group and Ku-Ah-Muh to hear about events this month such as sticker sales, information sessions and the annual Pah-Loots-Puu Powwow. The Crimson Group, an advocacy group for undocumented students, has the goal this semester to have outreach for underrepresented communities when it comes to supporting members within their communities.
ASWSU heard from Luke Deschenes, ASWSU director of community affairs, and voted to fill the All-Campus Senator positions at their weekly meeting Wednesday. The meeting opened with an update from Deschenes, who updated the senators on three events: the ASWSU city council joint meeting on March 29, the 32 Walk Audit at 4 p.m. April.
ASWSU Executive Assistant Lauren Moffat spoke to the 51st Senate at their Wednesday night meeting about some of the things she accomplished during her time on the Executive team. This semester, Moffat gave the Services and Activities Fee presentation on behalf of ASWSU Executives. She said they are thankful for everything the Senate has done.
Both ASWSU president and vice president tickets presented their sides regarding possible election bylaw violations during a public hearing on Tuesday. Vice President-elect Kiana Parsi defended a Panopto recording, which shows Parsi promoting her campaign in Psychology 320; According to the ASWSU bylaws, this is a violation. The faces of WSU’s student government are shifting after Jacob Martinez and Kiana Parsi won the ASWSU presidential and vice-presidential election Wednesday night. “Thank you so much.
