National Security Adviser Ajit Doval will meet with UK counterpart Tim Barrow to discuss bilateral issues and pro-Khalistan radicals. India has expressed concerns about the British government downplaying the issue and the safety of Indian diplomats in the UK.
At an event in New Delhi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday slammed Pakistan and said India will not tolerate a situation where "terrorism happens by night and trade happens by day". Jaishankar also spoke on a range of issues from the Ladakh standoff to Canada giving space to pro-Khalistani separatists and extremist elements.
At an event on nine years of the government at the India International Centre, he said the Khalistani issue has impacted the ties between the two countries in many ways in the last few years.
An NIA court convicted two men accused of trying to revive the Khalistan movement. They were convicted under the UAPA Act, the Indian Penal Code and the Maharashtra Police Act.
The decision to proceed was made after hearing from several parties, especially after the Ministry of Education received a letter from the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee
