THE Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar lll-led Jama’atu Nasril Islam has asked the regime of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) to be alive to its responsibility by protecting the lives and property of Nigerians following the insecurity across the country.
This was just as the religious organisation urged Nigeria Muslim community to pray fervently for the nation’s security challenges to abate.
The Sultan’s JNI also acknowledged that things were hard, urging affluent Muslims to assist the poor adversely hit by the harsh economic situation in the country.
According to a statement signed by the JNI’s Secretary General, Dr. Khalid Aliyu in Kaduna on Sunday, the Muslim community must also pray for an improvement in Nigeria’s economic and the restoration of security across the country.

The Jamaâatu Nasril Islam (JNI) has expressed outrage at the allegations linking it and the embattled Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami with a plot to eliminate the former Governor of Kaduna State, the late Mr. Patrick Yakowa.
In a statement issued yesterday, JNI described the report as disheartening and disgusting.
Itâs Secretary-General, Khalid Aliyu, who signed the statement, said the allegations were designed to tarnish its image and that of other Muslim organisations.
It said it was taken aback by the desperation of some disgruntled elements that in their desperate attempt to smear the image of the Pantami were smearing the name of the JNI.

If Yakowa was vehemently hated by the Muslims and were desperately trying to ‘get rid’ of him. How did he win the 2011 election in a Muslim dominated state of Kaduna where a Muslim-Muslim ticket recently sailed through? Who voted him in?

Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) has described as fake a document linking communications minister Isa Pantami to the planned murder of former Kaduna State Governor Patrick Yakowa.

The said document, which first surfaced online in 2010, alleged that in a July 2010 meeting convened by the JNI and presided over by Mr Pantami, there were plots to, among other things, “eliminate” Mr Yakowa.
