JNI speaks on planned debate with controversial Kano preacher, Abduljabbar The Sultan Abubakar Saad-led JNI says the debate will give undue publicity to Abduljabbar. 2 min read The Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) on Wednesday said its members would not participate in the planned debate with controversial preacher, Abduljabbar Kabara. The JNI made its position known in a statement signed by its Secretary General, Khalid Aliyu, and emailed to The Kano State Government is organising a debate between the controversial cleric and other islamic scholars in the state. It was learnt on Friday that the group of bandits responsible for the abduction wanted their gang members in custody of security agencies released as a swap deal to free the abductees. Bandits in military uniform had reportedly stormed the school around 2am on Wednesday, and seized their victims, killing a Senior Secondary School 3 pupil who raised the alarm in the process.
