INDIANAPOLIS (AP) â A 17-year-old Indianapolis boy accused of fatally shooting his father, stepmother, two teenage relatives and a heavily pregnant 19-year-old woman at his home was charged with six counts of murder Thursday, according to a prosecutor and court documents.
Raymond Ronald Lee Childs III, who was arrested Monday in the shootings a day earlier, was charged as an adult, Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears announced. One of the six murder counts was in the death of the unborn baby, Mears said.

Six murder charges were filed against 17-year-old Raymond Ronald Lee Childs III, online court records show. Childs was also charged with attempted murder and carrying a handgun without a license.
Childs is accused of shooting Raymond Childs Jr., 42; Kezzie Childs, 42; Elijah Childs, 18; Rita Childs, 13; and Kiara Hawkins, 19, and her unborn son at a home in the 3500 block of Adams Street Sunday morning.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers initially responded to the 3300 block of East 36th Street on a report of a person shot. Officers found a juvenile boy, later identified as Raymond Childs’s 15-year-old brother, who had been shot. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.
Childs III was identified as the gunman by his younger brother
Xavier Childs, who suffered gunshot wounds as he fled from the home, police said. Xavier, 15, remains hospitalized but is expected to recover.
Police previously withheld the suspect’s name due to his age. It was released after the charges were filed in adult court due to the severity of the alleged crimes.
