Thatâs why a North Mankato woman is getting creative to send extra joy to her mother for her birthday this year.
Aside from phone calls, Zoom conferences and window visits, June is the last time Marsha Murphy has been with her mother, Lois.

MADELIA, Minn. (KEYC) â Madelia junior basketball player JaâSean Glover is a scoring machine who picked up his 2,000th career point on Monday.
Glover is accustomed to scoring over 30 points-per-game, as he is a playmaker that wonât hesitate to score from anywhere on the floor.
The junior draws plenty of attention every time the ball in his hands, yet opposing teams still struggle to slow down the star.
âI would do the same thing other teams are doing, sending everyone I can at him,â head coach Jeff Van Hee said. âTheyâve seen him play for years and respect his abilities. They know that if theyâre going to compete and take us out of games, they need to limit him as much as possible.â

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - Even for those eligible to get vaccinated the process of finding and booking appointments remains difficult for at-risk seniors.
That’s why more than a dozen health insurance providers have joined the Vaccine Community Connectors pilot in a national effort to get 2 million seniors vaccinated as quickly as possible.
America’s Health Insurance Plans and Blue Cross Blue Shield Association announced the new initiative.

WALNUT GROVE, Minn. (KEYC) Authorities report they are investigating a crash that injured a Walnut Grove woman Wednesday.
The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office and Walnut Grove Police Department report that Helen Tate, of Walnut Grove, was injured in a crash involving Benjamin Johnson, also of Walnut Grove, shortly after 10:40 a.m.
Johnson was reportedly traveling southbound on Crown Avenue in a Ford Fusion when his vehicle was struck by Tate, who was driving westbound on 160th Street in a Chevy Impala.
