(KEYC) Rep. Jeremy Munson (R-Lake Crystal) is drafting a bill to remove the offense for expired license tabs in an effort to reduce the number of traffic stops. “A lot of people have been asking to reduce the number of interactions between law enforcement and civilians,” Munson said. “There’s a lot of primary offenses that can trigger being pulled over. Having license tabs being properly displayed doesn’t improve public safety.”

(KEYC) - The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office has received multiple reports of phone calls from people claiming affiliation with the department. A news release says the suspect attempts to elicit personal information claiming people missed a court date or failed to respond to a subpoena. The office says scammers frequently modify their phone number to match with a government entity, and the suspect may also attempt to provide names of local officials or judges.
