MASSENA â The St. Lawrence County Public Health Department is working with school districts on the contact tracing process for positive COVID-19 cases, and a Massena Central School Board of Education member wondered if the districtâs personnel were receiving overtime or any other compensation for their work.
âFor the concept of contact tracing that the school is doing for Public Health, I was just wondering if we could find out and get some sort of report as to the labor effort the school district employees are putting towards this end. Are we paying overtime or any sort of additional compensation to employees with regard to this work that theyâre doing for St. Lawrence County Public Health?â Kevin Perretta asked during a special board meeting last week.

MASSENA The Massena Central School District Board of Education narrowly passed a motion to hire a human resource assistant.
The board’s split vote took place during their Thursday, Dec. 17 meeting.
A motion to appoint Lindsey Sloan-Barkley to the position at a $49,000 pro-rated salary effective Jan. 4 passed 5-4. No votes came from trustees Amber Baines, Kristy Baker, Jodele Hammock and David LaClair.
